Review: Maybelline Baby Lips

Baby Lips has finally arrived in the UK yet for some reason it's hard to physically find it in Boots or Superdrug unless you go up to the tills and then you feel the need to impulsively buy the most random flavour of the range. At least it's a cheaper impulse buy than what I'm usually used to, at £2.99 each they are in between Vaseline and Burt's Bees, the packaging is lovely too, it really stands out for me as a young consumer of make up.

 Maybelline Baby Lips: Peach Kiss
Having tried this out I noticed that my lips dry out faster than if I use Vaseline or Nivea, the tiny hint of colour is a nice touch and so is the scent. It's a reasonable price, but is it worth the hype? Not really, it's not ground breaking but I think the packaging really has something to do with it.

Make-up Review: AVON Always on point

When AVON released an self sharpening eyeliner I knew that i just had to try it out. This new eyeliner has a twist cap that sharpens the pencil when when the cap has been twisted on. The immediate pros to this pencil (sorry to state the obvious) is that when you come to use the pencil the tip is nicely sharpened. Which some may find a problem when owning mechanical eyeliners as they can't be sharpened. Another pro is how soft the pencil is when applying it to the eye. I have found this eyeliner to also be very durable and will last me the whole day and it also removed quickly and easily when ready.

A negative that I have had is that even though it is meant to sharpen, the inside sharpener takes the kohl leaving the pencil flat. This only happens sometimes but it annoying as it is a waste of eyeliner. This lead me nicely on to my next point. It finishes so fast. Mine finished literally 15 minutes before this post. I have had this product for about two months and I'm not some one who put eyeliner on everyday of the week so for it to be done already is really disappointing.

Below is some before and after pictures of using AVON's Always on point.

With AVON's Always on point

Overall this is a bad product at all and the idea is really good. This pencil does give a soft look to the eyes and I think that it something worth trying.

Happy Summer

Rimmel Haul!

Happy Easter everyone! Here's a little treat for you beautiful people, I got my hands on the latest Rimmel treats: Lash Accelerator Mascara, Apocalips Lip Lacquer and Wake Me Up Foundation!

I have to say this has been my favourite Rimmel haul in a while. Reviews are down below:

First off APOCALIPS!
I actually love this soo much. I think I might get a few more shades because this is a fairly subtle shade, maybe next time I'll buy one that makes my lips pop. The shade I am currently wearing is "Celestial". I must admit I wasn't too excited when I heard about this but after reading a few reviews I had to get my hands on it. The colours in the range aren't for the faint hearted but they really do make your lips look out of this world! The finish is very nice as well and lasts for quite a while. Do put a lip balm first or else it will look flaky and unattractive.

Now to the Lash Accelerator!
Rimmel's Scandaleyes slightly disappointed me so I was a bit on edge when choosing between another Apocalips colour or to try out Rimmel's new mascara. I have to say that I do like this mascara. It's probably one of those that I will use on a day to day basis because as a friend said, it looked very natural and does what it says on the tin, lengthen my lashes.

From left to right: Without mascara, with mascara front view and with mascara side view.

And finally, Wake Me Up foundation!
I have a confession to make... this is the first time I've ever bought or used a foundation, so I'm a noob when it comes to foundation ok. As a BB cream addict, my mother thought this foundation would be a great start. It's light, easy to apply (though I wish it was packaged with a pump, it has a sort of stick that picks up the foundation) and the finish isn't too bad and leaves my skin looking dewy (yay).
I have fairly dry skin and what I like about this is that it keeps my skin feeling moisturised without making my skin oily. Again, I think I'll be using this quite often.

UPDATE: Turns out there is a pump on the Wake Me Up foundation bottle... I just broke it when I first opened it ;-;

Review: L'Oreal Telescopic False Lash Mascara

Mascara is one of my most vital parts in my make up routine and there is nothing more frustrating than getting a mascara that has no dramatic effect on the lashes. L'Oreal Paris false lash telescopic mascara gives you that drama that you need.

Many bristles on the brush. No clumps when taken out.

This is what the mascara looks like when opened.
My eyes with no mascara.
the eye on the left with mascara the right eye without.

You can clearly see the difference. The false lash telescopic formula has micro-stretched fibers which allow the lashes to have a dramatic length.
Both eyes with mascara.

Overall I think that L'Oreal Paris false lash mascara is totally worth the buy.
You can buy it Superdurg for £10.99 and right now they are having a 3 for 2 offer on all L'Oreal Paris products.

Review: Rimmel 1000 Kisses Lip Tint

Hi guys! So I did say I will review these beautiful lip tints for you all. I currently use shades 110 "Stay Very Berry" and 130 "Don't Stop Blushing". I bought shade 110 a few months ago and I loved it so much I had to buy it again in my boxing day haul because I've almost used it up.

My favourite thing about this is how long it lasts, from 7am in the morning till 9pm when I wash my make up off, the colour is still quite vivid.

I use shade 110 daily for school whereas shade 130 is a very vibrant red colour, which I didn't actually realise until after I bought it. The lip stain is applied via a felt tip pen which gives off the scent of strawberries (YAAAAY), the balm adds gloss, moisture and adds intensity to the colour of your lip tint.
On the left is Stay Very Berry and on the right is Don't Stop Blushing.

Here are my best pouts.. so from the far left, we have a blank canvas, in the middle, we have shade 110 and finally, shade 130.

On the left I am wearing Stay Very Berry and on the right I am wearing Don't Stop Blushing.

Before and After: Rianna's Everyday Make-Up

When I wake up for school my first thought is more sleep...and yes I go back to sleep so I hardly have time for make up. Plus its school I honestly don't care what I look like make-up wise. But when i do and on the weekends this is my routine.

So me with out make-up is not the best sight but here I am bearing all.

Here is me after with my everyday look.

So I used MAC liquid eye-liner and mascara, Maybeline mousse foundation, L'oreal glam shine lip gloss  L'oreal Infallible pencil eye-liner and Boots No.7 gold gel liner. That's how I get my every day (when I'm bothered) look.

Before and After: Melissa's everyday make up.

I usually wake up at 6 every school day so here is my usual thought about make up:
So here's what I look like without make up...with the added bed hair:
And then with make up...I don't do my hair because it'll just get raped by the wind, I gave up in year 9.

So I use, Rimmel's Glam Eyes Eyeliner in Black Glamour, Scandaleyes Show Off Mascara in Black, 100 Kisses Lip Tint in Stay Very Berry and Skinfood's Good Afternoon Peach Green Tea BB Cream (that's a mouthful) in shade #02 Natural Beige. Then I curl my eyelashes and run off to school.
