Love or Loathe: Is Hyuna making you melt?

Hyuna or "That girl from Gangnam Style" has recently dropped her new mini-album "Melting" with the title track "Ice Cream". Check it out below:
The current K-Pop trend right now is bringing back the 90's, notable songs are "I'll be there" by Spica and "Wow" by BTOB, both songs bring a sense of nostalgia.

It also means it brought on odd fashion choices.

For today, Rii and I will talk about Hyuna's style in her most recent music video:

Melissa: I'm torn. I love Hyuna to bits but I was feeling a bit let down with her stylist's choices for this video. It was a hot mess. The clashing prints, the odd accessories, or maybe there was a hint with her "Bride to Be" sunglasses, I don't know. There was also the ensemble on the gif that I wasn't too sure on. I think her stylist should've stuck to her guns and stuck Hyuna in shorts or shorter dresses. The assymetrical hems and maxi skirts were not too hot for me. My favourite ensemble was the cute Chanel sweatshirt she wore from the 2001 collection. Despite that she still rocked those outfits with her confidence.
Rianna: I kind of like her style in this video. She has mixed up the girly girl style with the bad boy one and for me it slyly works. Its a style that I haven seen explored and I think its a cool one to do. There where some aspects that I didn't like in some outfits but that's minor. I really do love the contrast of maxi skits with snap backs and bright leather jackets with bandanna's. I think Hyuna hit the mark.

Love or Loathe: Chanel's Hula Hoop Bag

One thing we got out of Paris Fashion Week is a hula hoop beach bag that we can use as a haute couture drying stand. -raises eyebrows-

Melissa: Oh Mr Lagerfield. -shakes head-

Rianna: This bag has clearly left Melissa speechless and I'm quite sure that she isn't the only one. Karl Lagerfield has given an explanation for his design '“It’s for the beach. You need space for the beach towel. And then you can put it into the sand and hang things on it.” For once is seems that it is function over fashion, but I can't imagine people paying so much money to then place it in the sand and use it as a hook. Having said all that about the beach bag the swimsuit was just too cute. To me this bag is just crazy even if you were to bring on a trip to the beach it will take up up much space anyway.

Above is the concept design for the use of this bag. L-O-L.

Melissa: I had to take a break so that I can stop laughing and crying at the same time. If the bag was detachable then sure, I'll stick it in the sand and use it to hang my towel or even better, use the hula hoop...as a hula hoop to get that perfect bikini body. But because its a Chanel bag, I wouldn't be bringing it to the beach...or anywhere at all. Can't wait to see if any celebrities rock this bag. To rock it you need to be utterly confident and not give two cents about knocking people out with your big ass bag. Saying that, I think the mini version of the bag is cute.

Love or Loathe: Pyjama Suits

Melissa:  This is just probably the most ridiculous "fashion trend" I have seen. I can understand printed jumpsuits, but please if you are wearing an ensemble just like this then please go back home and change.I don't mind printed pants or printed shirts, just don't wear them together. Just look at this picture of Rihanna, that suit ain't kawaii. The fact that printed suits are trying to make a comeback just irks me.

Rianna: For me this trend is all about the right pattern. If you have the right print the the outfit can really make a stand. However if it the wrong type of print then it just looks like you literally choose your P.J's from the clothes draw and that never looks cool. The Stella McCartney look on the bottom right I can vibe with, I love the bandanna inspired print. Defiantly something I would wear.

Comment and tell us if you Love or Loathe.

Love or Loathe: Dara's Teddy Bear pants.

Melissa: That shit cray. As much as I love 2NE1, I sometimes have to step back and just look at what they are wearing. Now for us normal folk we would look damn nuts wearing these outfits but 2NE1 always has the charisma to pull it off. Despite their overflowing charisma, those pants are not cool.

I also feel sorry for Dara and the odd outfits she's been made to wear despite being the "face" of the group. Ladies, just because these items have been made by Jeremy Scott does not mean you have to wear them. I mean I bet Dara has struggled to get into those pants. Aigoo~

Rianna: When I found out that Jeremy Scott is going to be the designer for 2NE1 clothes for their global world tour 'New Evolution'. My First thought was 'this is either going to be really good or really crazy.' So it seems that he has opted for the crazy.

Those trousers just to much teddy bear for me. even though I dislike these bottoms we cannot deny that Jeremy Scott  is a designing genius.

Melissa: There are other times where Dara looks completely fabulous and I have to praise the stylists for putting her in Robert Cavalli during the "I Love You" promotions.

Also check out their interview with Billboard in NYC in which they (mainly CL) talk about their first world tour and their song "I Love You". Hopefully they'll stop over in London so Rianna and I can go watch them!

Love or Loathe: Miley's new hair.

Melissa: I love it actually, I mean not many people can rock a short hairdo and Miley's rockin' it and you're all just jealous. Despite her photos of her new do' looking as if she forgot to brush her hair, at other times it looks pretty decent so kudos to you Miley for doing your thang. I'm a person who's had her hair short many a time and trust me it is the easiest hair to work with...Looking at Miley, I kinda want to head for the hairdresser's now.

Rianna: I find Miley's short pixie do to be cute. It is unique and you can never insult some one for doing their own style. But no matter how much I find this hair style to be adorable, I can't help but be remembered of Boris Johnson (Lomdon Mayor). But there is a simple solution for me, just make the dye the hair darker. But having made the comparison...I still love love the hair style.
