Summer Swap Shop!

We've all been through the pain of having to clear out our wardrobes to make way for the new clothes and also to make space from things that you wore back when you were 12. As well as giving your unwanted clothes to charity, bring over the best stuff to a friend's house and swap! Rianna and I have done this recently with our friends and it seems everyone has found good stuff. Doing this not only enables you to get rid of the stuff you don't want and snap up a garment you've coveted for a long time, but it's also a way to socialise and is a reason to get together!

Can we point out this dress is from the 80's and a size 14 but fits a size 8/10?! Shows how sizing has changed so much in around 30 years!

After your spring clean, set up a summer swap shop!

The 30 second DIY: Adding a Drape

This is the fastest and if not one of the fastest DIY's ever. This DIY is adding a drape to a garment. This is perfect if you have that shapeless jersey garment whether that be a dress, skirt or top. All you need to do this look is a hair band or elastic band.
Warning: This will shorten your garment.

To alter this dress like this all you need to do is bunch up some fabric on the inside where you wish the drape to be. (the amount is up to you) then tie the elastic band around it. Give it a little pull to fix, then your done.

Simple and easy way to get an elegant drape and add shape.

Make-up Review: AVON Always on point

When AVON released an self sharpening eyeliner I knew that i just had to try it out. This new eyeliner has a twist cap that sharpens the pencil when when the cap has been twisted on. The immediate pros to this pencil (sorry to state the obvious) is that when you come to use the pencil the tip is nicely sharpened. Which some may find a problem when owning mechanical eyeliners as they can't be sharpened. Another pro is how soft the pencil is when applying it to the eye. I have found this eyeliner to also be very durable and will last me the whole day and it also removed quickly and easily when ready.

A negative that I have had is that even though it is meant to sharpen, the inside sharpener takes the kohl leaving the pencil flat. This only happens sometimes but it annoying as it is a waste of eyeliner. This lead me nicely on to my next point. It finishes so fast. Mine finished literally 15 minutes before this post. I have had this product for about two months and I'm not some one who put eyeliner on everyday of the week so for it to be done already is really disappointing.

Below is some before and after pictures of using AVON's Always on point.

With AVON's Always on point

Overall this is a bad product at all and the idea is really good. This pencil does give a soft look to the eyes and I think that it something worth trying.

Happy Summer

Summer Spin

Oh the joys of basking in the summer sun.

Can you believe I've had this dress since I was 14?! Time flies!
Summer is when I still feel like a child, water fights, barbecues and bubblegum ice lollies? Summer is my favourite season.

Summer also means I can wear fuss free clothing that makes me feel fabulous without having to cover them up with layers, which is a weakness of mine, layering -.-

My week at F.A.D

Following the F.A.D Fashion Futures 2 Workshops in January- March,
the top 20 finalists have spent the past week at the University of East London's Fashion department to recreate their final designs for the final in September.

As soaring temperatures hit so did the stress levels. With only a week to redraft a paper pattern and to create a final garment, the week was a whirlwind. On Monday, students looked refreshed and excited, by Friday, stressed and on the verge of a breakdown. A taster of the fashion industry, I believe.

A massive thank you to the volunteers who gave up time to help us and give us wonderful advice on careers in fashion, without you all, our garments would never have been completed. Thank you also to the F.A.D team for giving me such a great opportunity to involved in such an exciting competition!
