Rimmel Haul!

Happy Easter everyone! Here's a little treat for you beautiful people, I got my hands on the latest Rimmel treats: Lash Accelerator Mascara, Apocalips Lip Lacquer and Wake Me Up Foundation!

I have to say this has been my favourite Rimmel haul in a while. Reviews are down below:

First off APOCALIPS!
I actually love this soo much. I think I might get a few more shades because this is a fairly subtle shade, maybe next time I'll buy one that makes my lips pop. The shade I am currently wearing is "Celestial". I must admit I wasn't too excited when I heard about this but after reading a few reviews I had to get my hands on it. The colours in the range aren't for the faint hearted but they really do make your lips look out of this world! The finish is very nice as well and lasts for quite a while. Do put a lip balm first or else it will look flaky and unattractive.

Now to the Lash Accelerator!
Rimmel's Scandaleyes slightly disappointed me so I was a bit on edge when choosing between another Apocalips colour or to try out Rimmel's new mascara. I have to say that I do like this mascara. It's probably one of those that I will use on a day to day basis because as a friend said, it looked very natural and does what it says on the tin, lengthen my lashes.

From left to right: Without mascara, with mascara front view and with mascara side view.

And finally, Wake Me Up foundation!
I have a confession to make... this is the first time I've ever bought or used a foundation, so I'm a noob when it comes to foundation ok. As a BB cream addict, my mother thought this foundation would be a great start. It's light, easy to apply (though I wish it was packaged with a pump, it has a sort of stick that picks up the foundation) and the finish isn't too bad and leaves my skin looking dewy (yay).
I have fairly dry skin and what I like about this is that it keeps my skin feeling moisturised without making my skin oily. Again, I think I'll be using this quite often.

UPDATE: Turns out there is a pump on the Wake Me Up foundation bottle... I just broke it when I first opened it ;-;

OOTD: GO AWAY, WINTER!

I think we can all agree that we want Spring to hurry its bum bum up! As Rianna pointed out a few days ago, the cold isn't the problem, its the timing. I mean come on, its almost the end of March! So today's outfit involves lots of layering. Which I detest. But here we go.

Clearly, I was having a bit too much fun swinging my satchel around today.

F.A.D: Judgement Day

We've been on this journey for 11 weeks now and now its come to an end. Well not the end if we get through to the next stage of this course (fingers crossed). I'm glad we actually finished our garment toiles without any mishaps and they actually look great. Mine would look better if I could put the drawstring on but that took forever and I wanted to present at the same time as Rianna.

The judges were lovely and friendly, I think its the conscious thought that this was a competition that scared us a bit and made us stumble with our words.
We'd like to thank everyone at F.A.D for helping us learn, develop and grow so quickly in these 11 weeks. We've never been more determined to get into the fashion industry until now.
Special shout out to Jenny for being our rock during our making and for teaching us the ways of being a master at pattern cutting.

For anyone planning to take this course next year, DO IT! It's a lot of hard work but it is so worth it!

THRIFT HAUL!

Ah, praise the East End Thrift Store for being the only Fill-A-Bag store around here. For £20 or £10 you can fill a bag with everything you ever wanted. Mind you, bring an extra bag just in case because the bags they give you are likely to snap on the bus ride home.

After three washes, I now have a collection of ugly shirts (which I plan to use for d.i.y posts), giant sweatshirts and a denim jacket my mother wants me to throw out.

Eurgh my morning face, be sure to look out for future d.i.y posts...when I can be bothered to get my sewing machine out!

DIY: The Princess Peach Project!

Hello wonderful people! We haven't done a D.I.Y post in yonks so I thought I'd go through with my current dressmaking projects.
I have been recently challenged by my little sister to create a dress for her so that she can dress up as Princess Peach for her school's World Book Day...or something like that, I wasn't really listening.

So long story short, I made this little dress for my little sister.

It took around 6 hours, 2.5 metres of fabric, bits of lace, an aching back and a very impatient seven year old girl nagging at my ear.
I kept it pretty basic now that I think about it, but the thing that annoyed me the most had to be the fabric that kept fraying so much.

Valentino: A/W 2013-14

Prim and proper is a way to describe Valentino's collection at Paris this week, rich colours, cobalt blue and perfect white matched with beautiful tailoring makes this collection striking.

Beauty Haul: Body Shop, Sunna Musk, Etude House and more!

Mother's day is just around the corner, every year my mother asks me for the same thing: Handbags. My only problem was that my house is overflowing with handbags at the moment so I was so happy to have found these little darlings over in Westfield:

These three little bottles contain oil based fragrances, which means it just lasts longer, hence Sunna Musk's slogan "Everlasting fragrance" and boy, does it last. Just a lick of this on your wrist or on your neck and the smell lingers from morning till midnight. They come in a roll on bottle, which is good because if this ever leaked I would be going crazy. So for three of these 6ml bottles, I paid £25 and will last me 2-3 months if I used it every day. This has got to be my March favourite, and the month has only just begun. My personal favourite out of the three is "Pinky" because it smells of cotton candy and has a more richer scent in comparison to CK One Shock.

These little darlings arrived from Korea and the packaging is just so cute I had to take a picture of it. I bought, Etude House's "Dear My Blooming Lips Talk" in shade PK004 which is actually very very bright:
I also bought more BB Cream from Skinfood's Good Afternoon Tea range in Honey Black Tea #2
You can find all these cutely packaged items at: Cosmetic Love, what I love about their service is it's quick and they send soooo many free samples! Yay!
I had to buy two of these because I have always used the Moringa Body Butter and the fact that the shower gel and the mini perfume spray was all wrapped into one package and discounted was just perfect timing! So  I bought one for my friend too since it is her birthday very very soon.

I also bought myself some new mascara after my little sister thought it would be funny to "mascara her hair"- don't ask. I think I should do a review on this, Rianna has made me a fan of L'Oreal eye make up.

F.A.D: Week 8 and OOTD

Today was a lot of hard work, paper patterns needed to be finalised, fabric had to be cut, construction for our toiles had to begin and our prints were finally dry and ready in all their glory.

I only just realised that my waistcoat ended up being a dress as someone from the team misunderstood my drawings and thought it was a dress, still it would make a kickass dress, despite its length -sigh-

So here are our prints from the print workshop during the holidays which I forgot to post about.. forgive me.

All the pictures above was from our screen print exercise and below is our friend Rachel's beautiful work which was created through ink and foil printing.

To finish, here are our outfits of the day!

(Rianna wasn't too enthusiastic by my picture taking, as you can see. hmmph)
