Love or Loathe: Nicole Richie Met Ball Look- Punk Inspired

The met ball this year was punk inspired. Many celebrities were able to show their interpretation on punk and some really stood out.

Rii: This look is an odd one for me. I get the look and I understand why and where she may have gotten the inspiration from. Having said that when I first saw this look I loathed it I thought it was just a bit unnecessary with the white hair. However the more I look at it the more it grows on me but that's not saying this is a love. The dress is a yes for me I absolutely love embroidery and the silhouette. The hair just looks bristle and dry. If Richie had the hair long in a simple plait or side swept it would have had a more punk elegance to her style. The simple make up complements the style and allows the hair to be the feature and I admire the simplicity of it.

Melissa: At first glance, my initial thoughts were "Oh sweet baby Jesus, your hair", and it is quite eye catching and a little scary. On the other hand, the dress is beautiful, the detailing and the silhouette is just something that we would put on top of the love list. Hell we could even make a new trend and call it "Elegant Punk" but the more you think about it... she reminds me of Storm from the X-Men series, that's kind of cool right? As a whole, I'm on the fence here, I love the outfit, I'm just not sure about the hair.

Style Crush: Cara Delevingne

We love love love Cara!

Vogue U.K has labeled her Model of the Year 2012 and rightfully so. She has walked the runway of Burberry, Stella McCartney, Oscar de la Renta just to name a few and dominated this years fashion weeks. On top of that she has been the face of Burberry, Chanel, Zara and more recently YSL Beauty campaign for its baby doll mascara. However her tomboy style is what makes her our style crush this month. Miss Delevingne has this really cool, laid back, urban, tomboy style that makes her a trendsetter. Her style embodies the chilled back London chick that you would see walking down brick lane on a typical Sunday. Beanies, jeans, and T-shirts are all apart of Cara simple style which we adore.

We love love love and love Cara for her cool sense of style.

Love or Loathe: Miley Cyrus' Monochrome Crochet Jumpsuit

Rii: This jumpsuit doesn't ignite any strong feelings for me. I neither love or loathe it. What i will give to this jumpsuit however is that Miley did wear it well. To pull of the monochrome diamond pattern with the crochet design must not have been easy. Miley simple styling for this jumpsuit was the right choice as any accessories would have been washed out by the drama of the jumpsuit. I wouldn't ever attempt to wear this jumpsuit but hats off to Miley for the bravery. She pulled it off.

Melissa: On Miley, it looks great, on me, not so great. This is not an outfit for the faint-hearted. I would pass with this one as I don't love it nor loathe it, in fact I'm more confused by it. The diamond patterns, the differences in textures plus the crochets just makes it look like it's something that could be found in Arkham Asylum. Miley does need a root-touch up though.

Voulez rentez-vous avec moi?

Excuse my terrible French (I just finished an abysmal AS French exam) but for anyone in the East London area, if you're feeling that your wardrobe needs a bit of spicing up, head over to the Old Shoreditch Station on Thursday 30th of May from 7-10pm to rent out your clothes as well as rent out clothes from up and coming designers and bloggers!

This scheme started out in Paris, and we are so lucky for it to be launched in London, I hope to be going along, but it depends on how much money I have at the moment (eek!)

How does it work? I hear you ask, well let me tell you.

So you bring much loved, rarely worn items to the Old Shoreditch Station along with cleaning conditions for each item. You also work out a price to rent these items out for (usually 15% off the purchase price) and then bring a deposit cheque or if you have a paypal account, even better! This is to secure transactions and if the items are returned back, then the deposit is cancelled.

You get three weeks to enjoy the clothes before bringing it back to the drop off place (in this case, The Old Shoreditch Station)

Thanks for stopping by!

OOTD: Hello Spring!

We've been ghosting for quite a while haven't we? With textiles coursework done and dusted, we're currently studying for our summer exams. We should be posting more soon. But in the meantime, I thought it'll be nice to post an outfit of the day post since the last one involved lots of layers. Now that the weather is finally looking up, the thick coats and fur hats can go! (YAY!)

Thanks for stopping by!
